Resilience and Reflection

Christmas is gone and as we enter the last few days of 2024, it is clear this year has been a turning point in India's story—marked by milestones, challenges, and a test of its resilience.

The year began with a strong focus on economic recovery. The GDP grew at 6.1% despite global headwinds, aided by a robust manufacturing sector and rising exports in electronics and EVs. Yet, inflation and unemployment continued to burden households, especially in rural areas.

The government's Green Hydrogen Mission emerged as a highlight, earning global praise for positioning India at the forefront of the clean energy revolution.

On the global stage, ISRO brought a moment of collective pride with Chandrayaan-3 successfully landing on the Moon, showcasing India's technological prowess and ambition in space exploration.

At home, however, erratic monsoons caused droughts in Maharashtra and flooding in the northeast, landslides in Kerala spotlighting the growing urgency of addressing climate change.
