Last night, the nominations for the 81st Academy Awards were announced. The big news was 11 nods for Everything Everywhere All At Once, though the nine nominations garnered by German war film All Quiet On The Western Front was more of a surprise. Three Indian films were also nominated, for Best Documentary Feature and Short and Best Song; all stand a good chance of winning.
A GOOD SHOWING BY INDIAN FILMS
Three Indian films have been nominated for Academy Awards. There was the expected Best Documentary Feature nod for All That Breathes, which, after winning at Sundance and Cannes, is the odds-on favourite. Naatu Naatu from RRR is in the running for Best Song. And The Elephant Whisperers will compete in the Best Documentary Short category.
