Dr Clare Bailey, 62, spoke of her anguish for the first time as she and their children scoured a treacherous mountain path with rescuers.
The hunt became a desperate “race against time” last night as groups combed snake-infested rocky terrain in blistering temperatures on the Greek island of Symi.
A search operation has been trying to locate the 67-year-old broadcaster since he disappeared during a walk back from Saint Nikolas Beach on Wednesday.
Dr Mosley’s four children – Alexander, Jack, Daniel and Katherine – arrived on the island on Friday night and yesterday joined their mother to retrace their father’s steps with volunteers.
Speaking publicly for the first time since her husband’s mysterious disappearance Dr Bailey said in a statement: “It has been three days since Michael left the beach to go for a walk.
“The longest and most unbearable days for myself and my children.
“The search is ongoing and our family are so incredibly grateful to the people of Symi, the Greek authorities and the British Consulate who are working tirelessly to help find Michael. We will not lose hope.”
New CCTV film released by the Greek authorities appeared to show Dr Mosley walking unimpeded with an umbrella near the marina in Pedi.
Previous footage from a house at the edge of the village’s small marina showed the presenter walking towards a mountainous path at about 2pm local time on Wednesday.
The mayor of Symi, Eleftherios Papakaloudoukas, inset, vowed to continue the extensive search operation, which has involved police, firefighters with drones, and divers operating in dangerous conditions and high temperatures, until he is found.
