On the last Monday of the holy month of Savan, which coincided with the celebration of Raksha Bandhan, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited the revered Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain to offer his prayers.
This visit was significant not only due to the temple's religious importance but also because it marked a day of dual celebration, combining the end of Savan-a period of religious observance for many Hinduswith Raksha Bandhan, a festival that symbolizes the bond between brothers and sisters.
In a brief statement, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the importance of the occasion. "Today is the last day of Savan. It is Raksha Bandhan as well.
We have come here to Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain to offer prayers," he said. His visit underscored the importance of the Mahakaleshwar Temple, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, a set of highly revered shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple, renowned for its historical and spiritual significance, attracts a large number of devotees annually, particularly during the Savan month, which is marked by fasting and prayer.
