Responding to a petition filed by a student, Justice Sachin Datta also instructed the grievance redressal cell, established according to the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations, to review and adjudicate on grievances regarding the constitution of the election committee before the final result announcement.
"If it is determined that the composition of the EC (election committee) does not comply with the law and/ or the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations (as endorsed by the Supreme Court), appropriate consequential orders concerning the challenged elections will be issued by the grievance redressal cell," Justice Datta stated in an order issued on Friday.
