Sectoral data revealed a mixed performance. Nifty Auto, Media, Realty, and Consumer Durables emerged as the top gainers, buoying the indices. However, sectors like Metal, PSU Bank, and Oil and Gas underperformed, dragging overall momentum. During the trading day, indices climbed over 1 percent at their peak before encountering profit booking, which moderated the gains.
