Kharge expressed disapproval over Modi's description of the Constitution as an "empty book," allegedly used by Congress to mislead the public.
Kharge pointed out an irony in the Prime Minister's criticism, noting that in 2017, PM Modi had presented the same "Red Book" to the then-President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
According to Kharge, this highlights the inconsistency in Modi's remarks, as he questioned how a book previously gifted by the Prime Minister could now be disparaged as a meaningless piece of literature.
In a recent public address, PM Modi accused the Congress of "disregard" for the Constitution, stating that the "Laal Kitab" distributed by the Congress contained "nothing."
Modi went on to suggest that the empty nature of the book reflected Congress' supposed disrespect for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of India's Constitution.
Modi described this as a "testament to Congress' disregard and hate for Baba Saheb Ambedkar," and called it an "unfortunate" political move, meant to manipulate the Indian public for electoral advantage.
