Spring is traditionally the season when new plants are showcased, and that includes indoor plants. There are new colours, new varieties, and some interesting variations for adding some zing to your indoor plantscape.
While foliage is big overseas, and becoming more popular here too, flowers still rule when it comes to the most sought after indoor and patio plants.
Multicolour anthurium
Besides phalaenopsis, anthurium offer by far the largest colour range and at last count there were some 13 colour variations available.
The more unusual new colours include the striking dark-leaved varieties with bicolour flowers in shades of salmon and green, deepening to red, or brown-tinged salmon, as well as heart-shaped salmon flowers with pronounced white veins.
There is also an extended range of mini-flowering anthurium with flag-like candyfloss pink flowers, pure white, red, blush pink, and bicoloured cream and green. These minis are perfect for desktops, bedrooms, bathrooms and smaller apartment spaces.
