Adar Poonawalla invests Rs 1,000 cr in Dharma Productions

In a significant development for India's entertainment industry, Adar Poonawalla's Serene Productions has entered into a landmark partnership with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment. The collaboration, officially announced on October 21, 2024, involves Serene Productions investing a massive Rs 1,000 crore into Dharma, giving them a 50% ownership stake. The remaining 50% will stay with Johar, marking a pivotal moment for both companies.

This major investment values Dharma at Rs 2,000 crore and is intended to expand the production house's already formidable position in the entertainment landscape. The focus of the collaboration will be on developing large-scale, multilingual productions, building enduring franchises, and modernizing traditional storytelling formats to appeal to diverse global audiences.
