Parties that may not respond public's desire stand to lose credibility

Wherever I visited in the west, Africa and other places of the world, I usually heard that Hindus are peaceful, soft and adjusting community.

Parties that may not respond public's desire stand to lose credibility

During my research and field work in the Netherlands, I heard from many Dutch people that we don't face any problem with Indian migrants, either People of Indian Origin (PIO) or NRIs.

Then what happened in Bangladesh? The question arises here that the community which is known for their adjusting nature, softness and submissiveness are facing brutal attacks by extremist communal forces in Bangladesh. It shows that the chemistry of Bangladesh has been changed now.

Historically speaking, Bangladesh is the by-product of colonial politics which fragmented the Indian nation. But as a nation, it emerged through an independence struggle led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from the oppressive hegemony of Pakistan. During this second independence, Bangladesh evolved as an idea of a nation. In the idea of the nation of Bangladesh, gratitude for Indian support to Bangladesh against Pakistani control and army attacks was in-built. Secondly, in Bangladesh, with religion, the shared Bangla culture of Muslims and Hindus has evolved another uniting idea which worked as one of the core foundations of Bangladesh. The Bangla language and cultural heritage are shared by both Muslims and Hindus in the country. Except for the religious practices, both communities associate with Bangla identity.
