However, the ancient Indian learning and evaluation system fostered a holistic approach to learning, emphasizing practical application, critical thinking, and character development.

The former often encourages rote learning, where students memorize information solely for the purpose of mechanical reproduction in paper without genuine understanding or retention. This approach fails to foster meaningful learning outcomes, as students frequently forget the material shortly after the exam.
