Dhaka to bank on Yunus

The interim government, which is to be sworn in at 8:00 pm, may have an advisory council of 15 members.

Yunus, the 84-year-old economist, was on Tuesday appointed as the head of the interim government by President Mohammed Shahabuddin, a day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country following deadly protests against her government.

29 BODIES FOUND: Prof Mohammad Yunus appealed for calm and urged people to "refrain from all kinds of violence," even as reports surfaced of bodies of at least 29 supporters of Hasina's Awami League party being recovered across the country, taking the overall death toll to 469. He added that he was looking forward to helping the country overcome its current turbulence.
