Five model villages to pave the way for going solar

As part of the PM Surya Ghar scheme, villages with a population of over 5,000 are being identified to implement the model solar village component

In a bid to give a fillip in the adoption of renewable energy, the Andhra Pradesh government has identified five villages in NTR district as model solar villages.

In a district-level committee meeting, it was decided to encourage the villages to go completely solar.

The five villages in the district are Budavada (Jaggayyapeta), Velvadam (Mylavaram), Paritala (Kanchikacherla), Kambhampadu (A. Konduru), and Sher Mohammadpet (Jaggayyapeta) as model solar villages.
