The Bombay High Court (HC) has permitted the state government to enter 'Jaystambh' (victory pillar) land in Pune for a fortnight to make arrangements for the January 1, 2025 programme marking the 207th anniversary of the battle of Koregaon Bhima.
The land situated at the Perne village in Pune is embroiled in an ownership dispute and a court order has directed for status quo to be maintained.
Hence, the government has to seek permission from the court every year.
The HC passed the order, while hearing a plea by the state government through the Pune district Collector.
