The child was found trapped 39 feet below ground, with his body submerged in water.
According to CMHO Dr Rajkumar Rishishwar, when Sumit was finally retrieved and brought to the hospital, his clothes were wet, his mouth was filled with mud and his organs had stopped functioning due to prolonged exposure to cold.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening in Pipliya village when the boy was flying kites and accidentally fell into the open borewell.
