With SP boss Akhilesh Yadav in tow, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday said from the dais of the Martyrs' Day rally "Bengal will preserve the existence of India".
"I am not a 'kafir', or a coward. I am neither a traitor. I want Bengal's relationship with India to be good. I thank you (Akhilesh Yadav) for the 'khela' (game) that SP has displayed in UP. The government at the Centre is not stable and will fall any moment. BJP should have resigned by now but they are shameless and came to power by using the agencies and the Election Commission," said Mamata.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Amit Malviya slammed Mamata over "I am not a kafir" remark accusing her of "unabashedly endorsing the abuse against non-Muslims". He claimed ruling TMC in Bengal is "hell-bent on destroying the state's social fabric".

MHADA's Konkan Board gets 4,420 applications till Nov 7
