Police start confiscating assets of wanted accused

A day after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the Crime Investigation Department (CID) to initiate the process of confiscating the assets of the wanted accused in the murder of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed district, the police began seizing the properties of the fugitive accused.

The CID has already taken over the investigation into the killing of Deshmukh, and the directives to seize the properties of the accused were given late Saturday night.

Fadnavis' directives come at a time when three accused involved in a broad-daylight murder of Santosh Deshmukh are still absconding.
