Police have filed a case against Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Vilas Potnis and his security guard for alleged unauthorised entry into a counting centre in Goregaon (East) on June 4, when Lok Sabha results were being announced, an official said on Monday.
The incident took place at NESCO centre while counting of votes of the Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat was underway, the official said.
This is the second case to be registered in connection with the controversy. The police had earlier filed a case against Ravindra Waikarâs brother-in-law
The constituency witnessed a close fight between the two Shiv Sena factions â Uddhav Thackerayâs Amol Kirtikar and Eknath Shindeâs Ravindra Waikar, with the latter winning by a margin of 48 votes.
