The high-decibel campaigning for the second phase of Jharkhand Assembly polls, UP bypolls at nine constituencies and Assembly bypolls at four seats in Punjab came to an end on Monday.

In the second phase of Jharkhand polls, votes will be cast for 38 seats stretching across 18 constituencies in the Santhal Parganas, 16 constituencies in the Koyelaanchal and four in the Chotanagpur region of the state. Santhal Pargana battleground is electorally highly significant as BJP during its campaign asserted that the tribal population was declining in the region due to the infiltration of Bangladeshis A total of 528 candidates, including 472 men, 55 women, and one from third gender are in the fray. Out of 38 seats, 27 seats belong to the general category, eight reserved for STs and three for SCs.
