Why Indian students choose the Philippines for medical studies
The Free Press Journal|December 23, 2024
The Philippines has marked a significant step in its sector of medical education by giving its final nod to alter the Philippine Medical Act.

Why Indian students choose the Philippines for medical studies

This act will provide a clear avenue for foreign nationals, including those Indian students, to study medical education in the Philippines and also to practice medicine in the country, maybe in India or even around the world, satisfying the growing demand for affordable and globally accepted medical education.

The long-standing Medical Act of 1959 has now been replaced by a new law, which was approved by the House of Representatives. The updated law introduces major reforms, such as the establishment of the Professional Regulatory Board of Medicine and the Medical Education Council. These organizations seek to raise academic standards, encourage ethical behavior, and maintain the Philippines' leadership in worldwide medical education.
