A PLYMOUTH veterinarian and race walker is auctioning unique sporting memorabilia as part of a fundraiser for an aid mission to Ukraine – a cause which has become close to his heart.
Edmund Shillabeer, who has competed at international level as a race walker, has been donated a range of items by five-time Olympian Chris Maddocks, who is a personal friend.
They will be auctioned at an event next Friday, June 14, at the Green Taverners Suite, to raise money for the latest aid mission to Ukraine by Andreas Evangelou and Maksym Litvinov.
Among the haul of items on offer is a British men’s team singlet from the 1996 Olympics, an unused tracksuit from the 1998 Commonwealth Games, and a vintage Formula One McLaren rain jacket.
