The Cattewater Harbour Commissioners (CHC) have been awarded £150,000 towards the extension of the Barbican Landing Stage (BLS). It means plans for three new pontoons can go ahead, and allows for more fishing businesses to potentially diversify into tourism.
Capt Richard Allan, Harbour Master and CEO of the CHC said: “We are delighted to announce our plans to extend facilities at the BLS, which has been awarded funding from the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) and can now go ahead.
“Since taking back the management responsibility of the BLS we have invested considerable sums in improvements to the existing structures, this grant will help create additional capacity and for more maritime businesses to operate from the heart of our waterfront”.
