A POPULAR Big lIssue seller who became addicted to heroin at the age of just 16 was found passed away at home by a drug support worker carrying out a welfare check.
Michael Crean, who sold the Big Issue in Plymouth, Ashburton and Ivybridge, was living at Abbey Court, Palace Street, on the Barbican.
An inguest into the 44-year-old's death was held on Monday at Exeter Coroner's Court. It heard how Mr Crean was found dead in his living room on June 10, 2022, after concerns were raised when it had not been possible to contact him for a few days.
A statement from Harbour-a Plymouth-based substance misuse charity which provides support to people with complex lives told how he had registered with the service in 2019.
