With young English amateurs from right across the age and weight range, the card was very well balanced with no shortage of excitement and skills on display. Hosted by former pro Darren Townley's Plymstock Legends Amateur Boxing Club, the opponents travelled from all over Devon, Cornwall and Wales to make up a very competitive night of boxing. Some decent matchmaking here, where even the opening two skills bouts were full of action and plenty of leather flying.
In the third fight of the night the first Legends boxer of the evening Elijah McSweeney lost to Devonport Boxing's Joe Murray. McSweeney was eager to jump in from the first bell but settled more in round two and forced a standing count when he connected with a decent overhand right.
The Devonport boxer planted his feet more and used educated pressure but the decision could have gone either way.
Dave Sperry clocked the first win for the Legends stable in the next bout with a UD victory over Gavin Jones of Alpha ABC. His opponent struggled to keep up with Sperry's work rate and the Legends fighter compact stance and more accurate work made the result inevitable.
