A JURY of eight women and four men yesterday found Plymouth businessman Luke Dann guilty of the manslaughter of 42-year-old David Kelly.
After deliberating for 14 hours and 20 minutes, the jury forewoman confirmed to the clerk at Plymouth Crown Court that they had unanimously found 37-yearold Dann not guilty of the murder of Mr Kelly, but unanimously guilty of manslaughter on the night of March 21 this year.
Dann had consistently denied he had murdered 42-year-old David Kelly and, on the first day of trial last week, pleaded not guilty to the alternative charge of manslaughter.
A third charge – causing death by dangerous driving – was also set to be considered, but was effectively left as the jury returned its verdict on the more serious charge.
