Charity provides a space full of comfort and joy

CHILDREN'S HOSPICE SOUTH WEST HELPS CITY FAMILIES

A PLYMOUTH family have thanked a charity for the care and support it has given their daughter, who has a rare and life-limiting condition.

Ali and Luke Harris from Ernesettle have heaped praise on Children's Hospice South West (CHSW,) for the care it provides to their five-year-old daughter Thea Mae, along with their whole family, through its Little Harbour children's hospice in St Austell.

Thea Mae suffers with a one-in-amillion neurological disorder; Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood. With only 50 cases in the UK and 500 in the whole world this is an incredibly rare disorder. It presents itself through a range of symptoms including painful muscle stiffness, cognitive impairment, migraines as well as heart, mobility and vision problems. Thea Mae also suffers with Dementialike symptoms and has to be fed through a tube.
