City couple lose out on week's holiday

A PLYMOUTH couple have lost their entire week-long holiday in Turkey because of this week's air traffic control meltdown.
City couple lose out on week's holiday

Mel and Ty Baker, from Eggbuckland, spent two days at Bristol Airport, where they described “manic” scenes, before being told their vacation was being scrapped and they had to return to Plymouth.

“It’s really frustrating, “said a disappointed Mel, aged 51. “We were all ready to go, drove to Bristol Airport, waited two days, with one night in a hotel, and were then told our holiday was cancelled and that was it.”

The couple are now trying to reclaim the £1,260 cost of their break from package provider Jet2holidays. They are also out of pocket for the £150 they had to fork out for a night in a hotel in central Bristol, and £90 it cost them in taxi fares between the hotel and the airport.
