Beckett was well supported by Neal Hotchkiss, who fired 12 nonplussed, but the pair still fell foul as Will Broome and team-mate Darren Smith also ran riot in the scoring phase.

Broome added ten tons to the scoreboard, whilst Smith’s total of 12 scores of a ton or more was topped up by his team’s only maximum.

Despite the outstanding scoring, Smith succumbed to Beckett 3-1 in the individual phase with Beckett’s 180 and legs in 18 and 14 darts doing the damage.

Harry Bull’s 12 three-figure scores led Indian Inn to a 10-1 success over Saltram, who had Mark Lyons showing good form with ten tons of his own.

Bull was well supported by Adam Fell who also completed a ten-ton personal tally, whilst there was a 180 in the match for each side as Danny Bull and Liam Page heard that number called after throwing on solitary occasions.

Paul Palmer’s good form continued as he finished on 12 tons in King Billy’s 10-1 success over Victory that sees them climb to the top of the standings.

Antony Hayman was also at something like his best as he added the game’s only maximum on his way to ten three-figure scores.

Hayman (25.91) was clinical in the individual stage with a 16-darter that helped him claim a 3-0 win, whilst Victory’s only notable contribution saw Phil Hoskin fire an 89 checkout in his 3-2 singles defeat.

Five maximums lit up a highly entertaining contest between Legends Lounge and Kings B that ended in a 6-5 win for the former that came down to the very last leg of the contest.

The quartet of Paul Gavican, Ant Pearn, Scott Wapshott and Dan Brazier all put up three treble visits for the St Budeaux-based title-chasers, whilst Simon Kelly added the Oreston side’s only 180.
