PLYMOUTH multi-million is gaining a new pound leisure centre, as plans for the project have been given the go-ahead.
The proposed development, at the £1 billion Sherford new town, would end a near 30-year wait for a swimming pool in the eastern area of Plymouth.
Sherford's leisure centre aims to offer the latest in high-quality, sustainable, and accessible sports and leisure facilities.
The proposals include a four-lane 25 metre swimming pool, a four-court sports hall, a 65-station fitness suite, two multi-purpose studios, wet and dry changing facilities, a café and associated parking and landscaping. Plymouth City Council planners, under delegated powers, gave the scheme the green light last week.
