Double defeat leaves Patriots battling to make the play-offs

PLYMOUTH City Patriots were in action over the weekend and despite coming agonisingly close in both their fixtures, added two more losses to their season’s tally.

Friday night in Manchester saw the first of the Patriots double header as they took on the Giants, in what would be a hard-fought contest.

The visiting Plymouth side took early control of the game, and managed to hold a double-digit lead for large portions. However, the Giants always managed to stay in touch and as the closing moments of the game unfolded, they seized the momentum and with it, the win.

The Patriots had one final chance to steal the points in the last four seconds, after the home team missed two free throws that would have sealed the victory.
