IAN Foster believes the fighting spirit of his Plymouth Argyle players to stay in the Championship was evident in the 1-0 defeat by Bristol City at Home Park.
Foster, who continues to come in for heavy criticism from fans after the Pilgrims' dreadful run of results, thought the attitude and application of his team could not be faulted, but admitted they needed to be 'more ruthless' in key moments. Argyle were much the better side in the opening half-an-hour against City but could not turn some good scoring chances into any goals, and they put paid the price for that.
The visitors were much improved after a triple half-time substitution and tactical switch and one of those who came off the bench, striker Nahki Wells, grabbed the decisive goal in the 57th minute.
