French is on target again as Tavi pick up a crucial victory

STUART Henderson was thrilled that his Tavistock side came away from their trip to bottom club Cinderford Town with maximum points, but felt there was still room for improvement from his young side.

This was a match that the Lambs could not afford to lose and they got off to the perfect start when teen star Harry French put them in front inside two minutes. But Henderson was unhappy with the rest of the half from his team, which saw Joseph Keeping equalise to send the teams in level at the break.

Whatever Henderson said to his players during the interval had the desired effect as they scored two goals in a minute straight early in the second half through captain Ed Harrison and top scorer Liam Prynn to give them a welcome cushion. Alex Bonthron's consolation deep into stoppage time did jangle the nerves a little, but Tavi had done enough to hold on for all three points.

"It was all about getting the three points," Henderson said. "We made a perfects tart and Harry has taken his goal really well, but I don't know if scoring so early, the lads looked quite nervy.
