Whatley's team-mate Mark Shears found ton-plus scores with regularity to complete a 12 ton-plus personal tally.
Scott Wapshott showed moments of brilliance with two maximums and a 13-darter coming in a 3-1 individual win.
That leg better a 15-dart leg for Shears in his 3-1 win and a leg in 15 by Whatley, who defeated Kelvin Rowe 3-2 in spite of some fine form by his adversary.
Rowe's 121 checkout in that epic battle ticked his ton tally over to the 12 mark, whilst team-mate Scott Lawrey netted the defeated visitors' only maximum.
