Hobbs was thrilled to see his side emerge as victors as they beat Cornish tenants Truro City 3-1 at Bolitho Park on Monday, but they literally have no time in which to enjoy that success before another big game at Ladysmead tonight.
Hobbs’ side – officially the away team on their home ground on Monday - were worthy winners in front of a healthy crowd of 622 at Bolitho Park and defeat leaves Truro nine points adrift of leaders Westonsuper-Mare with four games to go. Parkway are 11th, while Tivertrin are 12th, three points behind Hobbs’ men.
Bracknell Town’s 3-1 win over Beaconsfield Town also saw them leapfrog the White Tigers and into second place with Bracknell due to face Truro at Bolitho Park tonight.
Former White Tiger Rio Garside opened the scoring on Easter Monday with a delightful curled shot from 20 yards, but Harvey Greenslade slammed the ball home six minutes later for the equaliser. Dan Sullivan’s two yellow cards led to him being sent off on 62 minutes and Parkway took full advantage of having the extra man with Ryan Lane scoring on 82 minutes before Ben Seymour’s penalty completed the win in stoppage time.
“Local derbies are always going to be what they are going to be which adds an extra 10-20 per-cent to a player’s mentality whereas we didn’t have that on Saturday.
