CONOR Hazard will be back on the substitutes' bench for Plymouth Argyle against Sunderland at Home Park today after starting for Northern Ireland in their final two Euro 2024 qualifiers.
The 6ft 5 in goalkeeper played in a 4-0 defeat away to Finland last Friday but then earned plaudits for his performance as he kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win against Denmark at Windsor Park, Belfast, on Monday, and his club manager Steven Schumacher was pleased about that.
Schumacher believes it is important Hazard continues to provide good competition for first-choice keeper Mike Cooper, who has played the last five fixtures after returning from a serious long-term knee injury.
Hazard started the first 11 Championship matches this season after his transfer from Scottish champions Celtic in July, and has played three times for Northern Ireland as well, so he has had a lot of game time.
