It sets up a thrilling climax to the women’s Ashes series with two ODI’s remaining - at the Southampton Rose Bowl on Sunday and the County Ground, Taunton, on Tuesday. Both matches are already sold out as Ashes fever sweeps the nation.
The nerve-shredding win means England have won the last three meetings with Australia, who were 6-0 up after winning the sole Test match and first T20 clash between the two teams.
Australia need to win only one of the two remaining ODIs to retain the Ashes, but they have now lost three consecutive games for the first time since 2017.
