PLYMOUTH MP Luke Pollard has said it is "unforgivable" that the Government voted down a motion in the House of Commons to rescue NHS dentistry. This is despite new figures showing that patients in Plymouth and across the country are finding it impossible to see a dentist through the NHS.
A Labour motion signed by West Streeting, who opened the debate, urged the Government to provide an extra 700,000 urgent dental appointments a year, create incentives to recruit dentists into underserved areas, and create a supervised toothbrushing scheme for young school children. It was rejected, with MPs voting 299 to 191, majority 108, against it.

UK house sales fell in November
House sales slipped back in November, compared with October, but were higher than the same month a year earlier, according to HMRC figures. Across the UK, 92,640 property sales were recorded in November 2024 - 8% lower than the previous month but 13% up on November 2023.
