Old petrol station to be demolished

PLANS have been proposed to demolish a former fuel station, now a car wash site, in Plymouth.

The scheme will see the site at 201 Tavistock Road converted into a car and van hire office.

The plans would see the demolition of the existing petrol filling station structures. It would provide redevelopment to provide a car and van hire office, including external hard and soft landscaping and an Enterprise Rent-a-Car pole sign and fascia signage.

A statement with the application says: "The proposed redevelopment of this existing petrol filling station/ temporary hand car-wash facility to provide a purpose-designed car hire facility will provide a significant opportunity to improve the site, notably in terms of building design and layout, ecology and BNG, sustainability and in highways terms, due to the significant reduction in traffic demand.
