Protesters repeat call for ceasefire

ANOTHER protest calling for Israel's war on Hamas to stop was held in Plymouth over the weekend, with around 350 protesters marching through the city and congregating outside The Box.

Protesters say that the retaliatory attacks by Israel on Gaza, following the killing of some 1,400 Israelis on October 7, are disproportionate, targeting civilians, and must end immediately.

Officials in the Gaza Strip say more than 10,000 civilians have been killed, 4,000 of whom are children.

Protests in support of Palestine have taken place across Britain and the world, with more 140 nations calling for an immediate ceasefire.

"The toll of death and injury is horrific", says Tony Staunton, an elected member of the national council of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND).
