Pub reopens with new menu

A COSY pub on the edge of Dartmoor is back open with a brand new menu. People have been flocking to The Royal Oak at Meavy to try the locally sourced food since the service began on January 17.

The pub, which closed in October 2023 after its previous landlord departed after 17 years behind the bar, reopened under new ownership late last month under a new landlady.

Jo Rowe, 40, has been running the pub since December 21, and has recently been joined by two new chefs, father-and-son team Mark Downing, aged 43, and 20-year-old Nathan Downing.

Launching a menu where 'everything' is homemade and mostly sourced from local businesses has seen many locals heading back to the Meavy venue.
