It was the first time the 23-year-old had started a game in that position since joining the Pilgrims from Hungarian top flight club Kecskemeti in August. His previous appearances this season had been as a central defender.
With captain Joe Edwards out until January at least due to a hamstring injury, right-back has become a problem position for Rooney and he went with Szucs to play there against Swansea.
