Runners raise more than 300k for charity

A RECORD number of participants took part in this year's Britain's Ocean City Running Festival, with more than £300,00 raised for charity.

Featuring a half marathon, 10k, 5k and a Primary School's Challenge, the streets of Britain's Ocean City became a sea of runners on Sunday April 28, with approximately 9,000 people of all ages and abilities taking part, cheered on by crowds.

Organisers say more participants are travelling from across the UK to take part, demonstrating the growing popularity of the event and its contribution to the regional economy.

Whilst charity fundraising was at the heart of the event for many, there were also competitive elite races, featuring some of the strongest distance runners in the region.
