PLYMOUTH’S iconic ski slope is looking bright and new thanks to a £500,000 investment in a new surface – which is being officially unveiled this weekend.
Drivers on the A38 might well have noticed the bright new artificial surface on the slope, together with the SKI lettering running down from the top.
The installation of the new Skitech Diamond Matting surface – among the best in artificial slope technology – is the result of the investment from owners John Nike Leisuresport, and follows similar investments in sister slopes, including Llandudno and Chatham.
While the surface was completed last week after more than three months of work, Plymouth Snowsports Centre is holding an official unveiling ceremony this Saturday with an open day.
