PLYMOUTH Argyle have got to find a sweet spot where increasing the Home Park capacity will not run the risk of the stadium being half-empty for games, chief executive officer Andrew Parkinson has declared.
The Pilgrims have played in front of 16,000-plus sell-out crowds at the Theatre of Greens throughout 2023 due to the superb success the team have had on the pitch.
With demand exceeding supply that has inevitably led to a lot of debate about expanding the size of the stadium, with talk often centred around filling in the two corners at either end of the Mayflower Grandstand.
Whatever the eventual increase in size is it will cost millions of pounds and Parkinson pointed out both a business case and the funds would be needed for the club to proceed with it.
Parkinson told Herald Sport: "We are selling out, which is great to have, and the atmosphere is fantastic. I think it is a strength of the club the support that we get, but clearly we have got to think about what is the ideal capacity.
