Tavistock head to Westbury buoyed by recent form

IT was only seven weeks ago that Tavistock welcomed Westbury United to Langsford Park, but the two sides will lock horns again tomorrow in a rearranged Southern League Division One South clash.

Tavistock head to Westbury buoyed by recent form

The two sides played out a goalless draw at Langsford Pak back then and since that encounter, the two clubs have endured very different fortunes which has seen Westbury slip perilously close to the relegation zone after failing to win any of their five games since.

Tavi, on the other hand, have won all four of the matches they have played since to move within touching distance of the play-off zone and they travel to Westbury low in numbers, but high in confidence, especially after the dramatic nature of last week’s stoppage-time win at Bristol Manor Farm.

“At the time we played Wetsbury last, we hadn’t won and it was important that we didn’t lose that game, so with 15 minutes to go, we were more concerned about not losing it, rather than winning it and we banked up and came away with a point,” Lambs boss Stuart Henderson recalls.
