Taylor hits sixth 170 checkout of career

AT this moment in time, it seems inevitable that game shot is going to be called whenever Quinton Taylor is left with the biggest checkout of them all, the magical 170.

Just a few weeks after achieving the feat for a fifth time in his darting career, Taylor nailed the top of the shop checkout for a sixth time in Victory A's 8-3 win at Cherry Tree in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

Despite ending the wrong side of a defeat, Daniel Brazier top scored in the match with eleven tons whilst teammate James Ewing fired ten tons in vein.

Ewing's total was accented by the only maximum for his team whilst Tony Tasker threw his side's only three treble effort in a 3-2 defeat to Ewing.

Paddy Archibald's 16 darter proved to be crucial in a 3-2 win whilst teammate Scott Lawrey hit legs of 17 and 18 darts in a 3-1 win; ending the night on ten ton plusses.

Dave Johns fifteen three figure scores gave Kings Arms the platform to come away from their visit to Ker St with a 9-2 success.

Johns was well supported by Paul Palmer who made his total up to ten tons whilst Paul Hendy had moments of magic with two maximums and a game high checkout of 125.

Rob May fired the other 180 for the defeated home side whilst Lewis Byrne put up the most sustained resistance; finishing with ten tons overall.

Byrne was ultimately beaten in the individual phase by Paul Palmer who had to check legs in 15 and 18 darts in the 3-1 win whilst Johns won by the same score line with the help of a leg in 17.

Thirteen tons from both Andy Bates and Dave Matthews pushed Fawn B to an 11-0 away win over Victory Hammers.

John Mann was also prominent in the win with twelve tons whilst Matthews and Bates joined teammate Fred Goldsmith and Kieran Harris for the opposition in hitting a maximum.
