Bruce is just nine months old and is having to leave the force's puppy programme due to needing a hip replacement.
Due to his age, Bruce is unable to undergo a hip replacement until he is "physically mature". Devon and Cornwall Police will pay for the operation and his pain medication and he is expected to live a normal life after the operation.
The force is now looking for an experienced German shepherd dog owner, who will have the time to devote to him. He also needs to be in a "location where he will rarely come into contact with other dogs", ideally having a property with its own exercise area.
