Witnesses sought after hit and run

A PLYMOUTH teenager has been left in a state of shock, after he was hit by a van while on his way to school. His family are appealing for witnesses, as they say the driver fled the scene.

Fourteen-year-old Henry Hallam was walking along Radford Park Road, in Plymstock, last Wednesday morning when he was hit by a vehicle at speed, his mother, Elsbeth Hallam, says. He was helped to school by a fellow pupil before the school called his mum and he was taken to hospital.

Elsbeth said he had been hit by "the full force of the wing mirror" and was spun 360 degrees, causing arm, hip, knee and face injuries. She says that the driver of the van fled the scene after the incident, leaving Henry "bleeding and dazed" on the side of the road.
