The forecasterâs yellow warning for heavy showers and thunderstorms covers large swathes of England and eastern Wales from 4am until 9pm today.
The alert brings the threat of flooding and power cuts for some areas, as well as travel chaos, with some roads set for closure and train and bus services facing disruption, including cancellations.
