Maricopa County is seeking election workers following a record-breaking surge of early voters - four years after the Arizona county became the target of Donald Trump's election fraud claims.
Dubbed the ânationâs ultimate swing countyâ, Maricopa County could determine the presidential race. But first, they need to find more early voter tabulators as over 1 million people have already cast their ballots early, officials said.
The Maricopa County Recorderâs office âURGENTLY needs additional help processing early ballots,â an email from the Maricopa County Public Health Department said on Wednesday. The message read: âTemporary assistance needed for the Recorderâs Office to assist in counting early ballots. This position pays $16 per hour,â according to a reporter from 12News.
Elections officials said in a press conference last week they only had hired 584 of the 786 temporary workers â 74 per cent â needed for this election, the outlet reported.

Kendall passes two key tests but is not out of minefield
The test for Liz Kendall was simple, according to one Labour insider. If the response to her statement is dominated by wheelchair users protesting that they will be worse off, she will have failed. If, on the other hand, the focus of the debate is about getting more people into work, she will have succeeded.
